Birthday Girl

This little girl is seven years old in two days time.
She just gets bigger and bigger every day.

Happy birthday to my beautiful big girl Daisy.

Wednesday, November 19, 2008

It is my birthday.

Yes it's the big one and it's ok so far.

I got a new sewing machine for my birthday and it's really rather fab, i've had a little go but i need about 3 weeks really to fully understand all the things it can do.

I also got
* some lovely fabric to make things with, cotton corduroy.
* some beautiful roses and chocolates and an unpicker (which i asked for)
* a photo album and some Devon Clotted Cream Fudge which Daisy says tastes like PlayDoh.
* a cheque
* an electronic whisk type of thing so i don't have to beat cream and the like by hand anymore.
* a camera, Marc tricked me by saying he needed one and getting me to help him choose and then he went and wrapped it up and gave it to me. Horay.
* a big tube of smarties

and i baked myself some fairy cakes, yum yum yum.

and i'm going out for dinner tonight, horay.

Daisy and Iris singing Happy Birthday

Here is a little video of Daisy and Iris singing Happy Birthday to Iris.

Happy 2nd Birthday Iris

Today is Iris' 2nd birthday.

I can't believe she is two already, where o where does the time fly, it really doesn't feel like two years has gone by.

Anyway though, she was very pleased with her presents and cards, yes she really likes all her cards too, well she really liked all the cards until she discovered the presents, but then that is only natural i guess, if i'm honest i prefer the presents to the cards.

She got lots of books which is totally brilliant, books from Grandma Bonjour, Aunie Emma, Grandad Tony and even us, (i will list them later)
Books are a fab present cos books are timeless and tend not to wear out, unless you rip them or wee on them or something like that.

She also got a lovely birthday dress from Auntie Vicky which she is wearing in the pics, she got two t-shirts from Auntie Emma one of which she is wearing in the pics, she got a pink hand knitted cardigan which she is wearing in some of the pics (her baby got a matching one too)
She also got a Spanish Polly Pocket who's head came off already (sorry Nana)

Grandad Tony sent up some money for Iris to get herself some Strawberry Shortcake dolls, (Daisy has two, and Iris up until now has been very envious) so off we went to Toys R Us this morning and got Iris some dolls of her own.

Oh my goodness can i really have two!

Quick snooze in the car on the way back from too much excitement.

Daisy's 4th birthday

Today is Daisy's 4th birthday, and she has been a very good girl.
She had lots of presents, some were received with glee, others not such glee until we explained what they were, but all in all she loved all her presents.

Presents include :
2 x strawberry shortcake dolls (Original Strawberry Shortcake and Watermelon), 1 x Strawberry Shortcake DVD
1 x dark pink ballet tutu and 1 x light pink tights
1 x game of 'who's who' memory game, which is actually very good, lots of fun to play.
1 x buckaroo, this caused lots of enjoyment from everyone, not sure we were actually playing it correctly, but that didn't matter.
1 x sparkly bracelet
3 x pink headbands (i even got to wear one)
1 x fairy story book, which is very very popular but she complains that aren't enough pics.
4 x small playmobile sets, these are very popular from both girls, much to Daisy's annoyance.
2 x new knitted outfits for Flossie (Baby Born dolly) Nana you have outdone yourself with the cardigan, Marc says he'd wear it if it was bigger.
1 x Aqua beads set, which is popular but very fiddly.
1 x box of Marc's old lego, which still had bits of lego stuck together to form little cars that Marc must have made perhaps 26 or 27 years ago, Iris loved this by the way.

oh and a nemo jigsaw, forgot about that one.

Thank you very very much to everyone.
xx

Photos to come soon.

Daisy's birthday BBQ

We had a small BBQ today and obviously left it to the last minute and only managed to round up Lucy, Gordon and Lex, to come over and join us, but in actual fact as we suspected it was so so nice to keep it small.
My mum told me that you should only invite as many friends as their age including themselves, so Daisy had herself, her friend Lex and there was room for one more, but hey, her little sister would have to do.

This was Daisy's birthday cake, it was a Madeira cake taken from Nigella, and it actually tasted very nice, but our oven is rather powerful and i keep forgetting to adjust the time and heat accordingly so some cakes come out slightly singed around the edges but fine inside.
Oh and that's a pink dollop of butter icing in the middle and then the girls had more butter icing and sprinkles to decorate their slices with.

Here they are in their pretty dresses.

They are actually shouting 'sausages', which is something i make children say for some reason when i'm about to take their photograph, it tends to make them smile or even better laugh, but Daisy and Lex like to shout.

Actually if your wondering where Iris is in these photo's / video's she was probably asleep.

Here you can see just how bossy Daisy can be to her good friend Lex.
Lex has quite obligingly started copying Daisy in singing 'happy birthday to me' but Daisy has picked up on it and is just making sure that everyone knows exactly who's birthday it is.

Daisy's 2nd Birthday

Today was my second birthday and whilst everyone else ate home made chocolate cake that mummy made, i chose to eat a chicken wing and completely refused to eat any cake.

Otto and Liberty and Leccy Lou came round to play and it was lots and lots of fun.
I opened lots of presents:
* some little wooden rooms to go into a dolls house, mummy tells me i will get the actual dolls house as well, but the Early Learning Center failed to deliver that bit on time.
* some books (Little Miss Bossy Boots, Snow Bears, Hug, We're Going On A Bear Hunt, Pinnoccio and a few more...)

We all played in the garden running around and eating bbq sausages and chicken and i had lots and lots of fun.

This year, mummy didn't get drunk which was a good thing.

(more funny shots from this day coming soon)

More photo's from Daisy's 2nd birthday.

Here are some more photo's from Daisy's second birthday.

The first shot is of me sulking a little bit cos Liberty's got my buggy, and obviously i want it if somebody else is showing an interest in it.

The second, third and fourth shots are of me and Leccy Lou playing with wrapping paper.

The last shots are of me, Liberty and Otto with masks on.
