Christmas Scrum at the Sally Army Christmas Party.

These photographs were actually taken on Sat, but i forgot to put them up then, and if i put them up with their correct date, you will probably miss them because they will be hidden too far down the page.

Here is Daisy lining up patiently at the back for her christmas present from father chrismtas, whilst lots of other children push and shove in front of her.

Christmas Ideas for the girls 2008

Oh my it's that time of year again, so i thought i'd just jot down a few suggestions for those family members who need a little help buying a little something for the girls.

What the girls really want for Christmas is:
That fantastic house we've been drooling over in Evercreech.


But seriously...

Both girls are quite into Playmobil so if you fancy buying any of that then go ahead.

As a general guide within Playmobil, both girls like mummies and babies, Iris especially likes little tiny pushchairs and prams to put the babies in.
They also love animals / zoos.
There is a lovely playground set with swings and a roundabout and i think mummies and babies and buggies come with this set, but it's probably a bit expensive.
Feel free to join forces and buy something together.

They still really like Charlie & Lola, we currently have 1, 2 & 5
You can buy these all over, in shops like Woolworths, WHSmith etc... but if like my family, they've shut your local Woolworths down to build yet another supermarket then you can also buy them online at the BBC Online Shop.

Merry Christmas

Just a quick post to say Merry Christmas to everyone.

These girls have been very very lucky with all the christmas presents they have received this christmas, as the moment they are quiet watching Charlie & Lola No3 which came from Anne, thank you very much Anne.

They also got lots of dressing up outfits, colouring in stuff, a Dora scrapbook, chocolates, books, hat boxes, wind up toys, clothes, a scooter, ballet shoes, and loads and loads of other stuff.

Saturday - Brokers Wood

On Saturday we went to Brokers Wood with Grandma Bonjour (Margaret) Granddad Roger, Auntie Emma & Uncle Paul, Roger's daughter Caroline (who is technically my step sister-in-law) her husband Ian and their children Sophie and Finlay.
We met an elf who guided us to the train that would take us to see Father Christmas in his little house. Daisy was nervous of the elf and didn't want to go too near to Father Christmas but i think she enjoyed the whole experience.
In the photographs below are Grandma Bonjour and cousin Sophie along with Iris and Daddy obviously.

The Christmas journey began on Wednesday

First of all we visited Grandad Tony and Grandma Helena, where the girls got a load of good loot for Christmas.
Iris especially seems to love small wind up creatures, you have to wind them up again and again for her and she giggles with delight.

Iris got her birthday present of Mega Blocks whilst we were down there (yes a little late cos poor Granddad has been poorly) but sadly the pull along cart full of Mega Blocks was so big that it wouldn't fit in the car, so we will have to try and get it soon, both girls loved it.

Christmas Ideas for the girls 2007

Firstly, this is obviously a post to family members rather than friends, unless you do want to buy Daisy and Iris a christmas present and then you are most welcome to.

This is a post about christmas present ideas for the girls.
I will list things that i think might be of interest to the girls and if you are interested in buying it or something like it then please let me know first (ie: before you buy it) so that any other grandparent or auntie doesn't get it as well.


PRESENTS FOR DAISY
* BABYborn / Dolly outfits.
Daisy has two main dollies, one is a BABYborn (named Flossie) the other is of similar size but with a soft body (named Maggie), so any clothes that you buy (or make) should be for a 43cm (17") doll.
* Sewing kits.
I think Daisy would like this Lacing Animals In A Tin or even this Sew & Lace Card which is cheaper, for a younger child but looks more interesting. She is quite interested in sewing, although i guess the interest might not last for too long because they both look quite basic but she would like it for a goodly while, at least until boxing day.
Presents already purchased
* Micro Scooter. - purchased
OK, this is perhaps a bit expensive at just under £40 but if anyone wants to donate to a scooter then you are most welcome.
Daisy has been having a go on her friends scooter just like this one and she seems to be getting the hang of it and did say she wouldn't mind one.
* Baby Doll Sling. - purchased
I think Daisy would like this dolly sling, in fact i think she would really like this dolly sling.


PRESENTS FOR DAISY AND IRIS
* Charlie and Lola DVD's.
The Charlie & Lola series ranges from series 1 - 8.
We already have no 5 so please don't get that one.
If you want to buy one of these then you can get these from real live shops that you can walk in and everything like Woolworths, WHSmith etc... but if your legs are not working you can also get them from the bbc online shop : No 1, No 2, No 3, No 4, No 6, No 7, No 8.
* Mary Poppins DVD
* Charlie and the chocolate factory (the original with Gene Wilder in it)

PRESENTS FOR IRIS
She is in fact quite hard to buy for because in some ways she has it all already (she plays with almost all Daisy's toys)
*In the night garden
She does quite like in the night garden so she might like this set of main characters or an iggle piggle or an upsy daisy

I would say smaller is better than bigger in my opinion, otherwise it takes up too much room, plus she only has little hands
* Happy Land from the early learning centre
Happy Land is a brand from the Early Learning Centre of cute figure sets.
Iris really likes playing with Daisy's old figures so she would probably love to get more. (having said that, Daisy laid it all out and played with it for about an hour on Monday!)
We already have these : Goosefeather Farm, The Village Vet and The Post Office so please don't get these.

Happy New Year

It's 2007 and we are entering this year as a family of four, which is one more than last year.
Here are some random photographs taken during our Christmas / New Year excursion to Devon.

Daisy, Iris, Nana & I went to see Cinderella Panto at Torquay's Princess Theatre. Daddy, Grandad Nick, Auntie Vicky and Auntie Polly & Anne were supposed to come too, but a particularly nasty virus spread like something 'very runny' at my mums birthday party two nights before and everyone was too poorly to come. Mum invited her old school friend Pam and her daughter Tracey and Tracey's son Mathew to come along instead.
Whilst i ran to get the car in the pooring rain, Tracey held Iris and Kamal (the fairy diva) apparently gave Iris a quick cuddle and commented on her lovely outfit which was a brown bear snow suit.
**My daughter has been held by Kamal!, i could auction her on Ebay for literally tens of pounds perhaps**

Here we are trying to get a self portrait of all of us squeezed into the bed, it kind of worked but Marc only just has his eyes open and Daisy insisted on getting Chicken in on the action too.

Daisy's first digital camera

Daisy amongst many other things, got a Kid-Tough™ Digital Camera for her Christmas present and she absolutely loves it.
Or should I say loved it, it was her favourite present until we opened the Pandora's box of baby paraphernalia that came from Grandma Bonjour which consists of a buggy, a highchair, a baby travel cot, a baby carrier and another baby to add to the collection of which i think currently stands at five (six including this new one) and that doesn't include the three that I have squirreled away in the box for charity.
And i hasten to add, that WE have only bought her one dolly, when Iris was born, which is apparently what you are supposed to do to stop your toddler throwing the new baby down the stairs.

If anyone is reading this who is at all likely to buy Daisy or Iris a present in the next 20 years, please don't buy another dolly.
I just know my dad's going to be laughing his socks off at this because he constantly threatened us three girls (i have two sisters) with a 'Billy Goat Machine', which was an invention in his mind where a machine came in and ate up all the toys that were left lying around on the floor.
In fact his constant talk of his precious 'Billy Goat Machine' led me to go out one Christmas when I was about 12 and buy him a dustpan and brush with a homemade label on it saying 'DIY - Billy Goat Machine'.

Anyway though, yes Daisy loves her new baby dolly set, we even let her push her buggy to the park and she did push it all the way to the park, and she then proceeded to let her dolly go on the slide, the see-saw, the roundabout etc…

But back to my original point, whilst she did love her digital camera, she took lots of photo's and here are some of them:

Christmas Day

It's Christmas Day and here is Daisy about to open her first Christmas pressie, she was far more interested in the wrapping paper than what was actually inside the present.
After opening her first present she went back to the tree to select another pretty looking present and opened that one as well, and then again and again until there were no more left.
It was a lot of fun for everyone.
