New Pixie Hats

This post is mostly for my mum so she can see these darn cute pixie hats which i seem to have made dozens of. (6 to date, but one was unpicked cos it was tooooooo big for anyone)
So if you are not remotely interested in silly little knitted hats then come back next week when i'll have found something else to post about.

This is the hat flat, before it has been sewn up at the back, this particular one is tiny (CO 50), it would perhaps fit a tiny premature baby or Iris' little baby dolly.

Here it is on Iris' little baby dolly.

This was the next one i knitted slightly bigger (CO58), this one would definately fit a newborn baby and has been bought by Lucy who gave it to a newborn baby, i made another one not striped and gave it to another newborn baby.

Here is the hat on Daisy's baby Flossie

Here are both hats being modeled by both the dollies.

George the music man

We were introduced to George the Music Man over the summer, he did a little gig in the local park and both girls are now hooked on him, we even bought his cd off him and that gets played quite a lot now. We now go and see his little music session on a Friday morning at a local nursery that opens it's doors to other non nursery attending children (and parents).
Here are two photographs of him, you can clearly see Daisy admiring him, Iris on the other hand would rather dance.

He is a lot of fun and teaches the children a lot about music and sound and rhythm and volume, he even lets them (one at a time) control the level of volume by raising their hands up and down.

He has a website which unfortunately doesn't seem to have a link to his children's cd, but you can listen to his other more grown up music.
www.coquireca.com
and he's also got a video on You Tube of him playing at a bus stop.

Dad, he even plays Baa Baa Black Sheep on a Ukulele, no Banjo though mind.

Climbing Daisy

Did i mention that Daisy likes to climb?
Well she does, here she is climbing on a contraption designed to be climbed.
She is pretty good at it, especially seeing as she is usually wearing a floaty dress (this one bought by Auntie Vicky)

Iris on the other hand doesn't like small hillocks or mounds or mole hills, honestly she can be a bit strange that girl.  You can't really see it in the photograph below, but she is actually standing in front of a very very small hill that then dips down to the roundabout, Iris will stand and wait for me to come and hold her hand before going over the hill, she is a strange little thing.

Banksy in Bricklane

We went down to Bricklane today with Run and Lisa and Floss, it was fun, the girls quite enjoyed it, so many fabulous things to look at.
It was a bit of a pain in the bottom trying to find a parking space, but we eventually found one and just where we parked Marc pointed out the latest piece of graffitti art by Banksy.

My rather bleached out photograph above has had the yellow lines removed that originally went across the pavement, here you can see them below in a much better photograph.

And this is a lovely bit of Banksy art, a maid sweeping the rubbish under the carpet.

If you havent' heard of Banksy, then he is a famous graffitti artist that apparently comes from Bristol, he mysteriously paints these works of art around London.
I'm told nobody knows what he looks like.
This is his website if you want to have a look www.banksy.co.uk

"I believe the children are our future"

Yes in the words of Whitney Houston, they really are our future.
Daisy was playing around with my little point and shoot camera which is something that i don't usually let her do cos she usually drops it etc..., but anyway on this occasion i did let her and she started taking loads of photographs of everything, the ceiling, her toys, herself and then me, here are the best and the worst two pics of me.

Then when i took it back to take a photograph of her i took several instead of one and realised that she had changed the settings to continuous shooting mode, which i'd never done before (never had any need to do it before). I asked her to do lots of different faces and kept my finger on the trigger and now we have a slideshow of Daisy's crazy expressions.
So in one afternoon, Daisy took her first half decent photograph of me and taught me how to shoot in continuous mode.
Big up the Daisy.

I've also only just realised that i can change the music that accompanies exported slideshows in iPhoto, so i thought instead of that "drug addled Whitney", i'd use my current favourite song by Ben Folds called Gracie
Isn't technology just fantastic.

Disclaimer:
1) When i said "drug addled Whitney" above i was in no way implying that Whitney Houston has been addicted to crack for a number of years.
2) Oh and Ben Folds didn't give me permission to use his song so please don't tell him.
3) By the way, I don't believe Ben Folds to be drug addled in anyway.

Dead Fox (updated)

Oh dear
Yesterday a baby fox was sitting on our shed, we watched it for a while and then he ran into next doors garden.
He is a typical London fox in that he is skinny and dirty, and doesn't have much change in his pocket for sweets.

Marc found a small dead fox this morning just round the corner, i suspect it is the same fox seeing as it's just round the corner from our house.
I nipped around and took a few photographs of it, it really did look a sorry state, i'll post one up here later, come back if your not too squeamish and perhaps we will be able to tell if it was the same fox or not.

Here is the aforementioned dead fox.
Poor old thing.
I'm not sure if it is the same fox, the fox above (that was sitting on my shed) has very very big ears.
It's hard to tell colourwise though, cos i shot the pic above through our kitchen window, whereas below i was about a metre away.

Gareth Pitmann's children.

Most of you know that Marc has an alter ego called Gareth Pitmann who DJ's and talks rubbish through the microphone, here are a couple of photographs of him that i found on this hard drive, there are plenty more believe me.
Gareth even used to have his own website where he did film reviews and everything.

But i bet you didn't know that he had children.
Well i had the pleasure in meeting these two children today, and i took a few snaps for your enjoyment.

New Blog

I've created a new blog, it's linked from my main Charlotte Photography website, it's called "Charlotte Photography - The Blog" catchy isn't it.

I can now put photographs just like this one of baby Billy below, on my new "Charlotte Photography - the blog" blog, instead of this blog. (confused yet?)

I photographed Billy a little while ago, he was only two weeks old at this point, he was very sweet, although to be honest he didn't really like my lights or my camera or perhaps it was just me, but i did manage to get some good ones of him anyway.

Pajama photo shoot

I did a quick photoshoot of the girls last night cos i hadn't done one for a while.

It was just before bed so they were in their pajamas.

Blog Headers through history

This is a collection of all the headers that have appeared on this blog.

This header is the first in a new style of headers.
It was taken yesterday, Jan 3rd 2011, when Daisy was 6 months and 8 months, and Iris was 4 years and 4 months.

This one was a very short lived Christmas update of the one before.

This photograph was taken one sunny day in the summer holidays of 2010. They were sitting outside Wells Cathedral having a picnic of sorts.
Daisy was 6 years and Iris was nearly 4.

This photograph was taken whilst we were out in France for Christmas, Daisy was 5 years 8 months and Iris was 3 years 4 months.

This one was actually taken in November 09, so quite up to date really, and yes i know it is totally naff, it will only stay up for a while i promise. Daisy was 5 years 7 months and Iris was 3 years 3 months.

This one was taken around September/October time, just before we had a massive bonfire of all that rubbish.
Daisy was 5 and a half and Iris was just over 3.

This photograph was taken at the beginning of April 09 on our latest visit down to Devon. Daisy was nearly 5 years and Iris was 2 years, 7 months.

This one was taken in January, i did quite like this one i have to admit, i'll have to do another on white background very soon.

I couldn't bare that last one with the black background, it was oppressive, it was bringing me down i tell you, so i found another one to replace it.
This photograph was taken in Nov 08, when the girls were 4y7m & 2y3m.

This one was created in Dec 2008 / Jan 2009, when Daisy was 4y8m & Iris was 2y4m. (i don't really like this one, so it won't be up there for long)

This one was created in Sept 2008, when Daisy was nearly 4.5 years and Iris was just 2 years old.

This one was created in February 2008, when Daisy was 4 years and 10 months and Iris was 18 months, she hadn't quite learnt to walk yet.

No more friends

In case anyone has noticed, yes I have removed my friends link on the left.
This is because it was just too sad that i only had two friends listed (and one was private after-all)
Billy no mates, that's me.
I'm not against having a friends list, i just kind of need some really, let me know if you want to be my friend.

Our telephone is a bit broken

For some reason our telephone is not working properly, when anyone calls we have to answer the phone within that first ring, otherwise the phone stops ringing and you (the person on the other end of the line) hear a nasty static white noise type of noise.
The answer phone doesn't kick in or anything either.
We can make outgoing calls no problem though.

So if you ring and i don't answer but you think i might actually be in then you could always try again in a few minutes cos in those few minutes i might have been able to find the phone and put it in my pocket or something.
Or you could call me on my mobile and i can always call you back.
I do get 300 free minutes after-all from 3.
And if your on 3 too, i get another extra 300 free minutes to call other 3 users.
Not bad for £15 a month.
If only the network was a bit better, but that is a whole other story.

Bonjour, Je M'apelle Daisy

Yes i know the dates have all been a bit out of sync lately, but hopefully things will go back to normal from now on.

Here at long last are a selection of photographs that grandma took of Daisy and Sophie whilst in France.

Is that Daisy walking Bentley or Bentley walking Daisy?

Daisy and Sophie colouring in.

The girls go to a French Zoo and see Polar Bears, apparently it was very very hot that day which is why they look a bit bedraggled.
