Playing in the playground with Lex

Here i am playing on the climbing frame in the park with Lex, we had lots of fun.

Iris stayed asleep in her pram, which was probably good cos she wouldn't have been able to play on anything, she's far too small, she can't even sit or anything she just lie's there either sleeping or making strange noises.

Iris sleeping

She does an awful lot of sleeping my baby sister, she does a bit of crying but not that much and she does a bit of grunting like a little piggy.

My new baby sister

Here is Iris Mathilda, my new baby sister.
Mummy and Daddy tell me that she was born at 3am on Thursday 24th August 2006
She weighed 3.3kg
She has very dark hair

I stayed at Ged's whilst Iris was being born, i had lots and lots of fun with Ged and Ged's girls Roni and Ruby, i even slept over at their house, i was such a big girl

Iris has cried a little bit since i've been back, but not that much, she seems pretty cute.

here is a pic of me holding her with mummy, and another one of her on her own.

Lazy baby

No change
baby still stuck tight.

Although according to my dates, the babies due date is actually around now, rather than Sat, so i'm not officially late until Wed/Thurs.
Try telling that to the midwifes when they talk to me about induction.

baby is still missing

i don't think the baby is in mummies tummy at all, i think she's just eaten too many cakes and chocolate and biscuits.
I think they are waiting for the baby to arrive via the postman, they are always waiting for things to arrive from the postman and they always arrive late, so that's probably where the baby is.

Where is my new brother or sister?

Hmmmm...
mummy tells me there is a baby still in her tummy, but i am not sure i believe her anymore, it has been in there an awful long time and surely the baby is bored in her tummy by now.
It is apparently due today, but i'm told it all kicked off the night before for me and then i was born midday on my due date.

You can see here how big mummies tummy is, you can only just see my head poking around the corner.

I'll keep you posted of any improvements today.

I am allergic to Peanuts

About two months ago i had an allergic reaction to peanut butter, it was a bit scary for mummy and daddy and they ended up taking me A&E but i was absolutely fine by the time we got there, i had already been sick twice so i'd gotten rid of all the nasty stuff in my tummy.
Daddy then took me to the doctors to get me referred for a blood test to see if i am actually allergic to peanuts.

Our appointment was yesterday (Thursday) instead of a blood test i had a skin prick test which is instant and less painful.

Here is a pic of my back taken a few hours later when the redness had gone down, but you can see where they did some drawing on my back, the circle next to the P (for peanut) was where it showed that i was allergic to peanuts, on a scale of 1-6 peanuts came up as a 4.
Ages ago when i had the blood test to see if i am allergic to cats and dogs it came up as a 3 out of 6 which is the half way point so not so serious.

The results are that i am not allergic to nuts themselves, BUT i am allergic to peanuts, and did you know that peanuts are not part of the nut family, they are part of the legume family, mummy didn't know that.
I am probably also allergic to haricot beans seeing as the last two times i've had baked beans i've been sick straight away.

Here is a list of all the things in the legume family:
Legumes: Broad Bean / Horse Bean / Field Bean, Chickpea, Cowpea, Field Pea, Groundnut / Peanut, Haricot / French Bean, Lentil, Lima Bean, Mungbean, Pigeon Pea, Soybean, Vetch / Grass Pea / Chickling Pea.

so far I am not allergic to anything else on this list other than peanuts and haricot, hopefully it will stay that way.

Yoghurt & Ballet & Winnie & Singing

Oh the two go together so well.

Here i am scoffin some yoghurt and here i am doing a ballet pose, they weren't taken on the same day, but mummy has only just downloaded them from her phone.

also, here are two new links to a couple of silly video's.

The first one is Winnie and me in the cafe at clissold Park
Winnie is sweetly swaying and singing a song, whereas i am rifling through Kate's purse, he he.
Daisy & Winnie

The second one is me singing 'row row row'
Row row row
The words usually go:
Row row row your boat
gently down the stream
if you see a crocodile
don't forget to scream
Row row row your boat
gently down to the shore
if you see a lion don't forget to roar

but as you can see i've slightly muddled it up.

Oh where o where can this baby be?

oh where o where can this baby be
oh where o where can it be

as you can probably tell, there is no change whatsoever.

xx

Rachel, Josh, Freya and baby girl.

Here is Rachel the business woman on the phone hours after the birth of her second daughter and she’s already delegated the baby responsibilities to young Freya, classic Hamilton photograph, brilliant.
Freya looks in her element.

Video's of me, hooray

Video's of me:

On the bouncy castle

Little house on the prairie

A message to little Freya out in NZ

I still have a fat tummy

Still no baby

I really must take a photograph of my rather large tummy and post it up here, cos otherwise you won't be able to see it.

As you can gather the baby is still inside it's little prison, but it is getting rather bored in there, as am i.

Expected arrival Sat.

Daisy's nightmare explained

Daisy: "I didn't have a nightmare last night, mummy can explain"

Mummy: "I was putting the rubbish out into the bins out the front of our house and the next door neighbour said hello and asked me how i was etc... (what with only 5 days to go till due date!)
And Daisy came out after me and said, man in bed, man cross.
The family next door moved in about six months ago, they are an asian family who seem really nice, mum & dad with three grown up children who all live there, so it can get quite noisy.

Next door's bathroom is next to Daisy's bedroom, so i imagine the dad (which is who's voice she recognised) must have been in the bathroom talking to someone and sounded cross and was looking for his shoes.

I can only imagine that this is what happened.

If it did, then i really hope they heard Daisy crying, and are a little quieter in the middle of the night, so as not to wake her up.

I've left her a little light on in her room anyway, just in case, and we have explained that if she hears the man again, he isn't in her room, he is next door in his house.

Not sure if this will work but fingers crossed."

Baby still put

The baby is still in my tummy, seems to be quite happy in there, i have been imagining all sorts of twinges happening, i even dreamt i was having contractions a couple of nights ago but it was all just in my head.

Hopefully soon.

Baby due on Sat, we'll see if it arrives on time or even before.
Rachel's baby was a week late and still a girl so the european research that states that you have 70% chance of having a boy if you go to 41 weeks is not true in the Bay of Plenty, i'll keep you posted as to whether it's true in Stoke Newington.

Mr Lion

A lady called Barbara (who is a friend of Auntie Vicky's) has bought 'the baby' a present and mummy has opened it, it is a lion with nice hair, i like it quite a lot, but it's not mine apparently it's for 'the baby'
Barbara has also bought me a present but i'm allowed to open it when the baby comes.

Daisy's Nightmare

Daisy woke in the night, crying and crying, when i got to her room, she was out of her bed and standing at her door in the pitch black. I led her back to bed and picked her up and put her back into bed but she wouldn't lie down, she kept asking for a story, but i told her it was night time and we were all asleep so she couldn't have any stories.

I sat with her for a while trying to settle her down, but then she suddenly scared the life out of me, we are sitting there in the pitch black and she suddenly tells me there was a 'man on/in her bed'!

Well i immediately start to think the worse and worry that somebody has broken in the house etc... but then i realise it must be a nightmare. I tell her that there is no man and it might have been a dream but it's gone now.

She settled down a bit so i go back to bed, but she starts up again, so marc goes down to try to settle her, and in the end he gives her a book and leaves the light on a little bit.
The book she asks for is Za Za's baby brother, a book Kate and Ben lent us about getting used to having a new baby in the house, strange.

At around 7am, she wakes up hysterical, screaming and crying, wanting to go downstairs immediately for breakfast, we try coaxing her into our room for a little while but just stands at the top of the stairs by the gate just crying and screaming,

In the end after a few stern words she calms down and comes into our bed sobbing silently into her chicken.
Then she tells us about the man on/in her bed, she tells us:
he was cross,
he wasn't shouting though,
he was looking for his shoes,
he was eating a sandwich
he was old (like a grandad)
he was black
he was wearing blue

and it was like before (she has had this dream before)

It's scary to think that a two year old can conjure up such dreams which obviously terrify her and the fact that she says she has dreamt it before.

Poor little Daisy.

Baby staying put & Freya is now a big sister

The baby is still firmly wedged in my tummy, no signs of it coming out yet.
hmmmm.....
come on baby, come on baby, i'm bored of the fat tummy now.

Rachel & Josh had a second little girl this morning NZ time at 3.16am, she weighed in at 7lb 9oz i believe.
They are all doing fine.
Freya now has a little sister.

The rain rain rain, came down down down

That title is from one of my favourite DVD's 'Winnie The Pooh'

It's raining and raining and raining!
It rained last night lots and then it rained this morning, and then it rained this afternoon as well.

What a change from all the lovely warm weather we had in July.

Mummy says she prefers it a bit cooler, especially seeing as she has such a large tummy.

Here is a photograph of me hogging the big yellow bouncy ball that Shonagh has lent to mummy to sit on whilst she is in labour apparently, don't know what that means, but if i have anything do with it, i'll be sitting on it.

I'm the baby

Just so mummy and daddy know who the baby is (in case this new baby wants in on some of the action) i just wanted to show them that i could actually still fit into the moses basket comfortably.

We seem to have an abundance of sleeping vessels for this new baby :
Mummy's cousin Libby lent her this moses basket in the photo, then Flossie's mummy Lisa lent them a crib which is a bit bigger and is currently set up in their bedroom, and then out of the blue Cindy brought back the original moses basket that i would only sleep in if it was padded with a pillow (i was a fussy sleeper).

So the baby will have lots of places to sleep all over the house, except it won't be sleeping in my moses basket, that is for my chicken and my dolls and myself.

Painting myself

I did painting today, but i decided to paint myself instead of just the paper, it was far more interesting.
Mummy got me to paint my feet so that i could walk over the paper, but then i went and painted my arm too, he he.

Then she sat me in the washing up bowl full of warm water to clean me off.
