yes it's official, one whole year.
The girls went to stay with Auntie Emma and Uncle Paul, and we wallpapered with lining paper, what will be the girls new bedroom. Then we went out for a few gins at the local pub.

Daisy the sewer
Daisy also loves sewing (see other post about knitting)
She has actually finished the flower below now, and is currently doing another one of her Chicken.
She's quite neat, although the threads in her chicken one did get into a muddle whilst she stayed over at Auntie Emma and Uncle Pauls this weekend just gone.
(photos to follow, when said Auntie and Uncle send them through)
Oh and this is Daisy's cat, which i absolutely love.
My Neighbor Totoro
Have you ever watched the totally brilliant film called My Neighbor Totoro?
It's brilliant, the girls love it, along with a handfull of other Studio Ghibli films that we own.
Here are some links to stuff about Totoro.
Here is a Wiki entry and here are some pictures and there are even some short clips on Youtube here.
This however is Iris' picture of Totoro.
I think Iris loves Totoro.

Believe in God, but lock up your camels.
I heard that on the radio and liked it, i've noted it down here so i won't forget it.
I told it to one of the Wells City Councilors today and he told me "If the Camel sticks his head in your tent, it won't be long before his body follows"
I quite liked that too, though his underlying meanings were slightly more political than mine.

Mrs Plant gave me a box of chocolates
Yes, Mrs Plant gave me a box of chocolates and a card to say thank you.
She/the reception class all love it.
It's nice to get some credit.
Hopefully it will still be around when Iris starts school in Sept, because i'm hoping Mrs Plant will be her reception teacher.

The Gruffalo head piece.
I made a Gruffulo head on Thursday whilst down at me mums for half term.
Mrs Plant from Daisy's school asked if i would make it and gave me a bag full of brown fur and fabric and a photograph of the Gruffulo from this production.
So i set to work and a couple of hours later (and a lot of fluff later) it was finished.
Here is Iris modelling it, without flash.
and here is Daisy modelling it after i remembered to switch the flash on.
It actually looks better from the back, but i forgot to take a photograph of it from the back.
Mrs Plant was delighted with it, which was rather nice.

Daisy the knitter
About six months ago, i had a go at teaching Daisy to knit and she was very interested in it for a while and then grew bored with it.
Then on Sunday when Grandma Margaret and Grandad Rog were over, Grandma taught her how to knit again and so far she is loving it.
It is full of holes and extra wool is wound round all the stitches but hey she's loving it.
Here are some unflattering photographs of her concentrating on her knitting.
