Going to London to visit the queen.

I am off to London tomorrow to visit the queen, well i'm not actually going to visit the queen, but i am going to visit some lovely friends who still live up in London.

The best part is that i'm going on my own, hooray, what jolly fun i shall have.

I am taking my camera and will be photographing everything that moves, and everything that doesn't move as well.

Jim Davidson's play was very funny

Vix got freebies to the opening night of 'Stand up and be counted' which is Jim Davidson's new play and (I find it unusual to say but) I quite enjoyed it.
It was funny and clever and a little sad and reflective towards the end, did I say it was funny?
Here is a link to Jim Davidson's website.
Here is a Guardian article about the play.

Devon half term

Us girls have nipped down to Devon for a couple of days to see the grandparents and aunties.

I believe a trip to the pantomime is in order for tomorrow night 'Snow White' and I might go out Thursday night with Vix to see none other than Nik-Nik 'racist' Jim Davidson in Torquay.
Well that should be fun.

Did I ever tell you about the time I met Jimmy D at a Young Conservatives garden party?
I wasn't voting blue at the time I only went along to chaperone my gay best friend of the time Rupert who probably fancied somebody at the party.
Oh and the promise of canopies

Jim D was a bonus of a sort, who was slightly creepy.

But he did tell us some jokes.

Up the Tor with the Wrakes

We went up that Tor again, this time with the Wrakes who came to stay.
It is fabulous up that Tor, very windy but wonderful.

Marc the tree man

Marc gave the apple tree down the bottom of the garden a haircut.
We think it's a cider apple tree and it was in desperate need of a pruning.
Perhaps it got a bit more of a haircut than it expected, but it did really need a bit of haircut.

Valentine Hearts

No-Face and Chicken gave the girls some chocolate valentine hearts.

The girls were extremely excited about this.

Daisy asked if i'd taken chicken to the shops to buy them, i told her i hadn't bought the hearts or taken Chicken to buy the hearts (which was true, Marc bought the hearts from John Thorners)
Daisy then said "perhaps Chicken went on his own" with a little smile on her face.

During this time, Iris had simply wripped off her wrapper and was busy stuffing her chocolate into her mouth, when it comes to chocolate Iris doesn't hesitate.

As you can see in the below photograph, No Face now has eyes, so he should technically now be called i-Face, but he's not.
And yes they could both do with a wash.

Oh and note Chicken's new feet, that Daisy choose a short while ago.

my new bike

This is my new bike
it was my Christmas present from Marc
it's wonderful

Riding it around these lanes make it feel like the 1940's, though if it was the 1940's i should probably be dressed more like this.

(i didn't take that picture by the way, it was stolen from a stock photography library)

Mouse Pie

Last Monday Iris and me made chicken mouse pie for dinner.

Iris helped to roll out the pastry, she liked rolling pastry.

She helped to brush it with milk, she liked brushing it with milk.

Iris even liked to eat raw pastry, yuk, i have no idea if that is bad for you.
She likes eating raw pasta as well, (i know somebody else who likes eating raw pasta, and so do all her children, and they are all still alive so that can't be that bad for you, mentioning no names, Ms Childs.)

Mouse Pie (would have looked much nicer if i'd taken a photo of it when it came out of the oven)

It's pie day today as well (leftover meat from our roast) but what pie shall it be today Rabbit, Cat or even Jackdaw, there are plenty of those pesky birds in our garden.

An acrostic poem - Dragons

Daisy's homework this week was to write an acrostic poem for the word DRAGONS.
She made this up herself with only a little help from me with spelling.

D arting through the night
R umbling in his tummy
A ngry dragon
G olden egg stolen
O ver the hills he flies
N ever sleeping
S earching

I've discovered that these are quite fun to do.
In fact I've discovered that most of Daisy's homework is fun to do at my age.

Poorly Daisy

I wouldn't be a true mum or a true blogger if i didn't sneakily take a pic of Daisy being all poorly and then sneakily post it up here.

I say sneakily because it really isn't going to be long before she's on here herself posting pics of me looking horrid.

This was taken during the CBeebies marathon, where the magical medicinal effects of children's television were being administered.

Moustache

Daddy got a pack of moustache's for his birthday back in Nov from the girls.
Obviously i only bought them for photo opportunities.

Here are those photo opportunities.

As you might be able to tell, Daisy is not as enamored as she used to be with being photographed, however as a plus, Iris is now quite up for it.
I knew there was a reason to have two children.
What will i do when Iris gets bored?
Get a dog.

Daisy choose a grey moustache to be like Grandad Tony, and although that is rather touching, Grey doesn't really suit her colouring, therefore i will persuade her with sweets to pose again for me, with a black moustache.

Teddy comes too

I forgot about this photograph, i went out for a snowy walk with Marc in December and we came across this dog who according to his owner had insisted on bringing teddy along too.

Jumping girls

The girls were willing to pose for me, for about five minutes yesterday, then they ran back upstairs to listen to stories on the ipod, which is plugged into speakers.

More photos to appear very shortly which are far more amusing than this one.

A visit with the Hamiltons

This is lovely little Tom Hamilton, Iris, and two other little friends of the Hamiltons who came on a walk with us.
(Daisy, Freya & Pippa had run off up the hill at this point)

Iris quite liked Tom, despite him scratching her a couple of times, she still quite liked him.
He was very sweet.

Nana's birthday

This was my mums birthday cake.
She likes knitting.
Those needles were edible.
Yum.

The cake may have been in focus, but my mum is definitely all blurry and i promise i wasn't drunk.
