Iris Bum Shuffling

Here is a lovely pic of Iris giving me a kiss but getting all excited and squealing instead.

Here is a pic of Iris' red shiny shoes which she is particularly partial too. Caroline gave them to Daisy at christmas 2005 and they are still going strong.

When you gotta snooze, you gotta snooze

We were about to drive to Camberwell to go see my old NCT group from being pregnant with Daisy, they have all but me and Shonagh, moved to South London or out of London, charming.
So i really wanted Iris to stay awake until we went in the car, in the hope that she might sleep in the car and make the journey less painfull.
Her eyes were drooping in-between the mouthfuls of food i was shoveling into her, and Daisy was under strict instructions to make as much noise as she possibly could to keep her awake, but alas she eventually fell asleep in her highchair.

I did however successfully manage to transfer her from highchair to carseat with minimal pain and the journey was relatively painless.

Shonagh drove in her newish bigger and better Toyota Corolla which has two extra seats in the boot.

Dressing up

We went to art club today and there happens to be a dressing up box there as well with some really good dressing up outfits.
Iris opted for a giraffe hat and Daisy opted for a police/fire lady outfit.
Daisy did actually do three paintings as well, but we left them there by accident.

Iris with spotty pants

Here are a couple of photographs of Iris, taken not long ago whilst the sun was still out.
Iris loves fabrics, she especially loves stretchy cotton material like t-shirts, leggins and especially Daisy's pants.
Here she is rifling through my bag and finding Daisy's spare (clean i add) pants, and then having a good old snuggle with them.
(they were clean!)

We met up with Lucy and Lex out at the Lee Valley Riding Centre this morning so that the girls could pat some ponies.

Here are my photos of them arriving and patting Chestnut, Lex's favourite horse, then my camera battery died.

Play-dough ingredients

for anyone wanting to make it yourself.

3 cups flour
1.5 cups salt
6 tsp cream of tarter (not tartar sauce!!)
3 tbsp oil
3 cups water
food colouring / flavouring (this is for smell rather than taste - don't eat it!) / glitter (all optional)

Pour all ingredients into a large pot. Stir constantly over medium heat until a ball forms by pulling away from the sides. Knead the playdough until the texture matches playdough (1-2 minutes).

I haven't made any yet but i might let Daisy help me make it soon.

A walk with Run and Lisa

Run and Lisa are running of to Kent.
They are leaving us, all alone, in London.

Lost - Series 3

We (Marc and me) have just finished watching the entire series 3 of 'Lost' which my sister Vicky very kindly lent me, we watched it within five days, four episodes a night on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday and then we just couldn't help ourselves and watched the last seven episodes on Friday.

I am now so obsessed with Lost that i cannot stop thinking about that bloody island:
Who was on the other end of the satallelite phone?
Has Juliet really become a beach bum?
Has the little hobbit really died? (big shame but thank god it wasn't Desmond he's considerably cuter)
Why would Kate prefer Jack to Sawyer, i mean Jack is handsome and all that and he's a doctor, but Sawyer is much better value for money.
Who's funeral was it that Jack went to in his flash forward?

So when does series 4 come out and put me out of my misery?

I just uploaded this video to blogger rather than YouTube, it seems to be about the same quality but it is displaying it slightly smaller.

It would definitely be easier to just upload to blogger, than uploading to YouTube and then linking to the video on YouTube.

Iris' Birthday

12 Months

At the age of 12 months Iris weighs 9kg which is nearly 20lb in old money.

17.3kg

Daisy is currently 3years and 3months and i weighed her in the chemist last week and for the record she weighs 17.3kg, which in old money is about 38lbs. In relation to her red book (personal child health record) this means she is bang on the 91st percentile.

Not sure how heavy Iris is at this point but i will get her weighed on Monday at the baby clinic seeing as she is nearly 1 year. At last weigh in when she was nearly 10 months she weighed 8.35kg (18.6lbs) which is just under the 50th percentile in the red book.

Iris is a lot slimmer than Daisy was.

Iris not bum shuffling

Iris (11 months) is now officially a bum shuffler, she has been doing it for about a week or so, but these last couple of days she is really starting to get somewhere if it's a shiny floor.
I have been trying to video it, but whenever i start to video she just stops and looks at me.
When i manage to catch it i'll put it up.

Pampers photo shoot

Even though we don't use "Pampers" nappies, an old work friend called Tara asked if i wanted Iris to model some nappies for a shoot and seeing as money was to exchange hands in my direction i said yes.
So today we trouped down to Dulwich to a little cottage almost within the grounds of Dulwich College (where Ernest Shackleton's boat 'The James Caird' is permanently moored on dry land) for Iris' photo shoot.
The photographer managed to do maybe one photo of Iris before she fell off some cushions on to the floor and bumped her head and scratched her shoulder which caused quite a lot of tears and after that understandably she wasn't that happy.
After some lunch though she cheared up and the photograher managed to get some good one's (or so i'm told)
They promised to send me copies so i'll post some up here when i get them.
